2025 Student & Emerging Artist Competition Reception and Award Ceremony

The City of Ocala, in partnership with Fine Arts For Ocala (FAFO), presents the 2025 Student and Emerging Artist Competition, “Techne.” Techne, from the Greek word τέχνη, translates to skill, craft, or the art of making, and this exhibition highlights a diverse range of media.

Join us for the free opening reception on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Ocala City Hall (110 SE Watula Ave., Ocala, FL 34471). The awards ceremony begins at 6:00 p.m., featuring live music by Cheyllo and refreshments. A jury will award winners in the divisions of High School Students, 1 to 3 Years of Active Experience, and 4 to 6 Years of Active Experience, as well as Best of Show.

“Techne” will be on view from Wednesday, December 3, 2025, through Monday, March 9, 2026, Monday–Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All artworks will be available for purchase unless otherwise noted.
